Quiet living despite dynamic surroundings
The Rörvicksbacken construction project in Årsta, Sweden, in the greater Stockholm area, focused on a challenging task: the building is located in close proximity to a railway line. In order to reliably decouple the resulting vibrations and oscillations from the building structure, an effective solution for building support was implemented.
For horizontal support, the foam-based solution REGUFOAM vibration 810plus was chosen, and for vertical decoupling, the recycled-material-based type REGUPOL vibration 450. This combination of materials ensures effective vibration decoupling and significantly reduces the dynamic effects caused by rail traffic. Reliable elastic support is crucial, especially for construction projects in the immediate vicinity of transport routes, in order to ensure long-term comfort for users and protect the building fabric. The REGUPOL solutions used meet these requirements and contribute to the long-term functional safety of the building.
Project overview
- building base isolation
- REGUFOAM vibration 810plus
- REGUPOL vibration 450
The Rörvicksbacken project shows how living space that can be used without restriction can be created even on sites with heavy traffic – as in this case with adjacent railway infrastructure. These solutions are essential, especially in conurbations where space is at a premium.
