Living above the organic supermarket

Living above the organic supermarket

The Alnatura chain currently comprises 152 stores in 74 cities spread across 14 federal states. Frankfurt alone has eight stores. One of them is located in Burgstraße. Organic for Bornheim could be the motto here. After one and a half years of major renovation, the shop was reopened in December 2020. It was modernised and expanded by around 70 m² to a total of 680 m². The store has been given a second entrance on Petterweilstraße, which houses a customer car park with 14 free parking spaces. In addition, a café bar was integrated as part of the expansion. With more than 6,000 organic articles, the market offers Bornheim residents a large selection of selected products, many of which come from the local region.

But it is not only regionality that is important to Alnatura. The chain attaches importance to sustainability in every respect. A few examples are the shop fittings, which are mostly made of recycled materials, natural stone and wood in all shops. For a few years now, the organic market has also been offering some products in returnable glass. In 2018, Alnatura was also the first retail chain to completely abolish plastic bags for fruit and vegetables, thus making another major contribution in terms of environmental protection.

Project overview

Unrestricted living comfort with the best local supply

The rest of the building on Burgstraße in Bornheim, which used to be an office building, was completely renovated from the end of 2018. Since the completion of the construction work, all floors from the first floor onwards have served as flats - around 160 in number. In order not to restrict the living comfort of the tenants, the screed in the Alnatura store was decoupled with REGUPOL sound 47. This measure effectively reduces footstep and rolling noises caused by visitors and shopping trolleys as well as deliveries by forklift trucks. This means that nothing stands in the way of undisturbed living and the residents can enjoy peace and quiet within their own four walls while at the same time being in the immediate vicinity of top-quality products.
