Vibration protection creates space for new residential quarter
In Düsseldorf-Rath, the Arcadiahöfe is a forward-looking residential quarter that has been created on a difficult site with an industrial past. The approximately 24,000 m² site was once used by the armaments company Rheinmetall and borders directly on the Düsseldorf–Duisburg freight train line. The site then lay fallow for many years before being revitalised as an attractive residential environment as part of an urban redevelopment project. Between 2019 and 2021, the Brune Immobilien Group built a total of 23 modern apartment buildings with 212 residential units here. The neighbourhood is complemented by a daycare centre, a neighbourhood park, play and meeting areas, and facilities for senior citizens, all in close proximity to the Aaper Wald forest.
Project overview
- Revitalisation of a brownfield site
- various types of REGUFOAM vibration
REGUPOL was brought on board as a project partner to meet the ambitious sound insulation requirements along the railway infrastructure. The elastic decoupling of the building foundation was achieved using a total of 1,650 m² of various REGUFOAM vibration types. The REGUFOAM vibration elastomers used impress with their excellent vibration control properties. Thanks to their predictable durability, they ensure effective decoupling of building foundations over the long term.
With this so-called brownfield project, REGUPOL is underlining its expertise in the field of innovative sound insulation solutions for urban residential construction, while at the same time contributing to the sustainable conversion of industrial sites into liveable residential space.
