City outside, tranquillity inside
The SEETOR City Campus in Nuremberg is a modern urban neighbourhood that combines living, working and leisure in an urban environment. The project was realised on the former Coca-Cola site on Ostendstrasse. It is therefore a prime example of a successful brownfield development that has created many necessary uses - and close to the city centre. The neighbourhood comprises around 22,500 m² of office and commercial space as well as around 300 flats. Thanks to its proximity to Lake Wöhrder See, it offers a high quality of life with attractive leisure facilities. The urban development concept is based on sustainable construction, high-quality architecture and a well thought-out infrastructure that makes the location attractive for residents and companies alike.
Project overview
The reduction of disruptive vibrations and the associated sound transmission played a central role in the construction project. On the one hand, the neighbourhood benefits from excellent public transport connections and its location on Ostendstrasse and Cheruskerstrasse as a major transport hub in the city. On the other hand, the tram line running directly in front of the building and the heavy use of the streets by motor vehicles of all kinds were critical sources of emissions that needed to be countered with a suitable solution. REGUPOL vibration 450 was used for vertical shielding of the building in order to fulfil the high acoustic requirements. It prevents unwanted vibrations from rail and road traffic from being transmitted unhindered into the building structure.
With REGUPOL vibration 450, the decision was not only made in favour of a material that meets the highest demands in terms of vibration protection. The recyclate-based secondary building material also performs very well in terms of sustainability due to its low CO2 footprint compared to primary building materials.
The result is a modern, liveable urban neighbourhood that meets the highest standards in terms of both functionality and sustainability.
