Acoustical underlayments like REGUPOL sonus are installed below a finished floor to reduce footfall, impact noise, and the transmission of sound through a flooring assembly. Noise and vibration, however,  can bypass acoustical floor assemblies through walls, columns, beams, pipes, and other protruding objects. Each of these building elements should be decoupled with isolation material like our REGUPOL perimeter isolation strips to reduce the transfer of noise and vibration between surfaces.
